Well we had an amazing weekend at Rudgwick Steam Show, a great atmosphere, great weather and a top class Pit Masters competition. The competitors all did fantastically, the food was incredible. Head judge Jackie Weight noted that judging is becoming really difficult now because so many teams are turning in such great food, it’s all about fine margins now with so many teams doing so well. This is great news for next season with all the teams looking forward to competing for the Pit Masters crown. Continue reading »

Another great BBBQS weekend! Set against the picturesque background of Tongham and bathed in Sunshine, the Pit Masters teams fought it out for the second time this year. We started the weekend with a nice warm up brewery tour, courtesy of our latest Sponsor- The Hog’s Back Brewery.

Despite most of the teams having a particularly jolly time, we saw exceptional efforts in the Pit Masters competition with our closest set of results ever. Only a couple of points separate the leading teams going into our National Final in August. Who will win the place at The Jack Daniel’s Invitational Wold Championships? It’s just too close to call!

A fantastic weekend was had by all at this year’s Mayhem in May event.  Pit Masters is the only BBQ compeittion circuit in the UK and practice makes perfect for our Grand Champions.
Bite The Bullet BBQ took the title this year.  Congratulations to Adie, Claire, Jamie and Jade.  Reserve Grand Champions were Royal Q Pit Crew and new boys Miss Piggy’s stormed into third place at their first ever competition. Congratulations to all participants!!!

This was our largest turnout so far with over 120 taking part in the competition as part of a team or judging, including 8 new teams. Mayhem in May proved to be a great launching board before taking Pit Masters public at our national final in August at Rudgwick Steam & Country Show.
