Well we had an amazing weekend at Rudgwick Steam Show, a great atmosphere, great weather and a top class Pit Masters competition. The competitors all did fantastically, the food was incredible. Head judge Jackie Weight noted that judging is becoming really difficult now because so many teams are turning in such great food, it’s all about fine margins now with so many teams doing so well. This is great news for next season with all the teams looking forward to competing for the Pit Masters crown. Continue reading »

The British BBQ Society Pit Masters National Final will be held over the weekend of August 28th & 29th at Rudgwick Steam & Country Show. This is sure to be a cracking event with the Pit Masters competition balanced on a knife edge and one of the country’s biggest country shows to enjoy as well. This is surely the premier BBQ event of the Summer, with the country’s best teams battling it out for the title of National Champion.

For teams looking to compete at the National Final, there’s not long left to get your entry forms in so get them in quickly to avoid disappointment. Entry fees are as normal, £150 which includes all your competition meat!

For those not looking to compete, why not come down, meet our Pit Masters, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the rest of the show. There’s plenty of fun for all the family at the Rudgwick show which attracts visitors from all over the country. We hope to see you there.

PitMasters

Another great BBBQS weekend! Set against the picturesque background of Tongham and bathed in Sunshine, the Pit Masters teams fought it out for the second time this year. We started the weekend with a nice warm up brewery tour, courtesy of our latest Sponsor- The Hog’s Back Brewery.

Despite most of the teams having a particularly jolly time, we saw exceptional efforts in the Pit Masters competition with our closest set of results ever. Only a couple of points separate the leading teams going into our National Final in August. Who will win the place at The Jack Daniel’s Invitational Wold Championships? It’s just too close to call!

The full results from Pit Masters Round 2 are as follows: Continue reading »
